RAPE, PILLAGE, PLUNDER-Spoils of War

Some one won the last election.  They are now in power.  They are now enjoying the spoils of their victory.  The auto indusrty (if you dare call it that), is waiting to die.  The united auto workers (the real industry) is scraping around trying to rat hole away as much of my and your money as possible.  The obama man is helping that happen.  Paying back their support during his election and election of many others.  Now the problem arises.  Now the problem slithers down into the dismal swamp without making a visible wave or rip.  We are in trouble.  He has selected a small group to benefit from this nations abilities at the cost of the nation at large.

All great governments have lasted about 200 years.  All great governments have died due to their excesses.  Bloat, large volumes of rancid gas comes to mind, comes to the nose.

Is our government's incomputance based upon our elected leader, or is it based upon his advisors.  We need to determine the problem and destroy the problem before or as it destroys this nation.

WHAT MAKES THIS CRISIS A CRISIS?

I hate to see the demise of the US auto industry.  I hate to see the demise of the uaw, I hated to see the demise of the Edsel, Packard, Studebaker, Nash, Rambler.  They have all gone.  Their failure has had little long term affect.  We have all survived.  We have all prospered.  Not many could tell you who they were, why they were, nor why they are no longer.

This crisis that we are in is termed a crisis because it is now, it is current, it was not yesterday, it is not tomorrow, it is now.  When this pending crisis was discussed in the past it was deemed not a crisis.  It was not currently in effect at that time.
Many are using this crisis as a means of pushing thru what the general public would not tolerate "if not for this crisis".  They are taking advantage of the fear flowing through this country and this world.  As many took advantage of the fear flowing throught this country after the terrible event on 9-11.
Obama's social democracy will lead to mediocracy, failure, unemployment(except by government), higher taxes, inflation, and economic stagnation.  I say this because of the reward system that is being put into place now.  Companies fail, unions choke competition, and the government rewards.  Companies flurish, and the government taxes those companies more to help reward the failures.  The government owes a debt to those who supported its election.  This new open government is not open to tell the people who they owe this debt to, but they are paying it, and paying with your money.

Spring in Florida, Life is Always Good

We had an active weekend here on the farm.  We separated  the remaining heard of mothers from the calves.  Much whaling and baying at the moon.  At one point a 1500 pound pig in cow skin ran over me as I foolishly stood in the gate in a failed attempt to stop her.  Luckily I had perfected my cow herding abilities as a youth, and it only took 6 hours to get her back to the correct pasture.  We have had a two day opera from the black angus girls of Sumterville with the calves providing back up from the back pasture.  By moving moms from the back and the teens from the front to join with the children in he back, we had to have two change of command ceremonies.  Several parades back and forth across the pasture, a lot of banging of heads, shoving and pushing,  The pecking order is still being reassigned as I write this.  During the weekend Snuffy Smith, the male burro, decided that he had had enough and jumped the fence, breaking the top board, and ran ramped thru the neigh-barn-hood, Sugar Baby, the female, decided that she was still in love and reacted loud and clear.  Thru out all of this the dogs acted bravely, barking loudly at anything that had intruded into dog territory, chasing anything that did not chase them.  Max, the big dog, decided it best to dig a very deep hole.  I don't know if he was trying to hide or find something at the center of the earth.

The weather has been beautiful, cool to warm, cool to the point of no mosquitoes.  I really wish that they would restart  the TV ads for the election process.  I do miss watching them.

During the weekend, Zekiel (the buro) and Buck-Shot (the lab) had to inspect an unidentified turtle crossing their pasture.  No problems reported.  Then this winged kid with baskets flew thru my grape vines, but with no grapes this early in the year, he left.  And the final.  Strawberry's for easter.  Delicious.

THE DAY PRIOR TO APRIL FOOL'S DAY

The President is on his way to Europe and the G-20 summit.  Hat in hand.  Ready to ask the likes of China, Japan, Singapore (what we used to call those 3rd world countries), to finance this countries bankruptucy.  His first trip to Europe was to a rock concert in Berlin, thousands were there, not to see him but to see and hear the music.  The news media alowed him to take advantage of that situation.  Will the news media allow him to take advantage of this situation ?

The country supports the President.  His approval is high.  Every President is popular until he does something.  There are two or more sides to every situation.  Each time a President acts, he has a slight loss of popularity.  Gets down to basic math, those who  believe likewise and those who believe otherwise.  The otherwise group reduces the popularity slightly.  That is the way it has been for every President.  If you look back over time, the President has spoken in very general terms, no specifics.  Now that is changing.  Good luck Mr. President.

The battered heart of Chevrolet is on the table.  A new face.  I hope a new plan.  Building new cars takes years.  Reducing cost will be painful and many question if GM can do that.  They will or they will die.  At least now they are not saying that it is a lack of financing.  People buy one auto over another because of quality and cost.  Quality is a function of management and workers. Cost is a function of management, workers, and the sales organization.  Workers and management.  These factors are what placed GM into the position they are in.  All of the bailout money in the world will not work if these factors do not change.  GM must be competitive in quality and cost.  The buying public has voted with their money in the past.  The buying public will vote again on who has the best quality and the best cost.

FACTS I HAVE FOUND THROUGH TIME

There exist in Southeast Asia a rat that makes an exponential explosion in its population.  Cycle is about every 46 years if my memory serves.  The place is Myanmar.  West of Thailand, east of Bangladash, the locals live on rice, the rats eat the rice, and other stuff that is growing.  This is normal and goes on year to year.  Then, bam, every 46 years the rat population explodes and the rats consume all, leaving the people to starve, the starving people even start eating the rats to stay alive.  The rats eat everything that the local people live on.  Terrible situation.  No scientific evidence exist at this point in time to connect this action with actions of our elected officials.

R-species:  these species often have a biology which specialises in maximum reproductive potential when the opportunity arrives.  They show periodic population explosions.  Pest and pathogens (disease causing organism) are often r-species.  No scientific evidence exist at this point in time to connect these actions to our elected officials.

I have this recurring dream.  It goes like this.  A pack of rats, all blind-folded, standing in a circle, standing waist deep in rat manure, all stabbing each other in the back.  Then I awake, only to realize that I was dreaming of congress and what they are up to now.  The sad thing is that my dream makes sense.

Statism: a political system in which the state has substantial centralized control over social and economic affairs.

We appear to be making progress on our current financial crisis.  We appear to be making progress towards a new world order.  We appear to be making progress towards the future.  None of this is necessarily good or bad.

The future ain't what it used to be.

People need to be aware of what is going on.  People need to be aware of what our leader's are doing.  People need to consider what their actions will bring to us, and how these actions will be brought to us.  Will it be brought down upon us.  We do need change.  We are intrusting this change to the very people who created the need for the change.

Beware.  Be aware.

THE LOST MARKET (again)

I heard the guy from AIG and I listened, he told the story of people wanting to hang AIG people with piano wire, well if they had started doing that with the Credit Union crisis or the EN-RUIN crisis then it would make more sense.  Well I thought why them, those people are brilliant, they took all that money with out using a gun, just said give me your money, and all the people of wall street did, and all those dudes and dude-ets in congress did.  They just gave them the money.  And listen, they want to give them more, more, more (that indicates plural and indicates that ` the give away is not over yet).  The piano wire is for the congress and the government who continue to operate behind closed doors.  He (big boss) said change, well the name on the door is different, the address and bank accounts are all the same.  Barney (one bullet)Frank is playing the blame game and is in reality Joseph Raymond McCarthy (November 14, 1908 – May 2, 1957), who served until his death.  We need mercy on our souls.

This whole deal is to enable them to find another sucker to buy their snake oil, that sucker is you and me.

I impress again, the responsible party is our elected officials.  They said to give credit to anything that can breath.  They wrote the definitions of ARMS:  interest-only adjustable-rate mortgage (just stop and consider for a minute what that means to the economy), also the NINJA: no income, no job, and no assets.  These are real banking terms.  All to fill a need brought about and brought to you by YOUR US Congress aka: your elected officials.  The only way these can work is that the buyer can sell to someone for more than he paid.  That is a pyrimad scheme.  Provided by the US government, your elected officials.

I impress again, if your elected official supported this spending, ask them to resign.

Another way out of another dilemma

auf mich horen Leute, ascolta me la gente, listen to me people

Ok, I thinkus I got it down, all da cookery shows are concentrate on how git it drunk on minimal wage.  Cheap beer with fancy color s and stuff.  Well what this country needs neow is a large group of people (perferated men) to do the deeds we, this courtry, needs done.  I saids perferated men cause they be the roots of all evil and wrongbin, they should bears burden.  Followeth my plan.

Men in green tights, yea, git up in tights and makeem green, we need a big crew causas like we got a bit lot of stuff to git done.  The real course of duty is to have these guys make these silver bullets.  Hell yes that what I said, silver, the only ones that do a damn good job of killing stuff that needs to be killeded.  No, none of this wooden stakes thru body parts stuff, pure silver, worked for the Ranger, gon works for uss.  Men in green tights to mold, fire, pour, cast, produce those wonderful silver bullets that can cure all our problems.  Silver bullets, works better than spinach, castor-oil, dr pepper, alum, wd40, duck tape, and even most religions.  Seien Sie gewarnte Leute (be warned), this works better with a lots of faith.

Out here in the pasture, we do not let the fox (our elected officials) guard the hen house door.

I do not understand the turmoil over AIG. AIG did what companies do, they made money. Incapable of doing it in the market place, they turned to another source, the elected members of the government of the US. Not the tax payers, the elected officials. Remember that group, write their names down, keep the names handy.  They are the ones that AIG, GM, UAW (all of those bigbigbigger than....) provided funds for election and reelection. I remember an Open Government promise but that is dead on the vine for now.  No one in the administration will discuss who provided money for elections.

Now pay close attention, take notes.  Now they (our elected officials) are advertising that the tax payers now own the company, they have not provided anyone with guidance on how to "Vote Your Shares", they do not want you to know.  They are advertising that they may withhold any future grafts of money.  This will not punish the exec, nor the elected officials, it will punish the owners of the company. Maybe that is why they are advertising the "tax payers own the company".  Now the elected officials are all saying "yes, I voted on the bill, but I never read it".  I have heard hundreds of times "that is what we need to look at". No,No,No, what we need to look at is why our elected officials "failed to look at"all these things when they should have. Instead they set the frame work for not looking, "we must act immediately or the end of the world is upon us", well they did act immediately and acted in secrecy and the only difference is that AIG is a lot richer, thanks to our elected officials.

AIG exec's have turned the corner with their business. Instead of a more effective business, they have a relatively more profitable business, thanks to a rich uncle. They feel and I agree that they should be rewarded for finding this rich uncle. I feel that the employees of the rich uncle, that being the elected officials, should pay. I have asked my elected officials that supported this give away program to resign and I have praised the ones who fought against the give away. I strongly recommend that we all determine who supported this and ask them to resign. Then work towards never providing them the chance to do it again. However, they will do it again, and again, and again. All under the guise of "the other option is unacceptable".

The true issue facing this country: how do we address our elected government acting in secret, acting with intent to defraud, acting to repay their supporters. It will not be easy. We do not need the people that did so much to create this situation, to have control of getting us out of their situation. Out here in the pasture, we do not let the fox (our elected officials) guard the hen house door.

Shuttle-15 March 2009

As Fast As A Speeding Bullet, As Strong As A Locomotive

You can not know what you miss when you do not live in a pasture.  It was an excellent view.  What this represents is years of planning and effort by an agency of our government (yes, some things in it works).  What you see is the sun reflecting off the vapor trail.  Reddish orange color turning to bright white as the vapor trail leaves the pollution of earth and rises to the cleaner altitudes.  And then you have the fire's of separation.  A controlled explosion that renders one into three.  Such as birds and their young, and all parents of all species pushing children up and out of the nest, out of the comfort zone.  That is how life continues.  That is how it moves into the future.  That is how it rises above.  At some expense, at some loss, and at some gain.

THE LOST MARKET

Staff & Shareholders in pool area.  Buck-Shot working on his statistical speech.

All the food and drug stained tuxedos have been returned to rental in southern California.  The Harley's are being returned to rental in central Florida and will be move to the next bike week.  The masses are evacuating California and I can only assume that they are headed for Oregon.  Time to get on the boat, on the train, in the bus, or hit the road.  Get to Oregon before the people that bankrupted California get there and do their evil deed.  Unfortunately the Pelosi-Frank-Obama Management Into The Next Crisis Team (PFOMITNCT, best pronounced if you spit as you verbalize it) are not on the bus, train, road, but hopefully they are on the boat.  It is leaking you know.  PS: yes, I am aware it would be normal to list President first, but Pelosi is 5 days older than Frank and they all being union types, she gets top billing.

All of my cows are eating hay and molasses.  I am dreaming of the day my cows will be eating green growing grass.  Hopefully soon.  We had the Ironhorse Farm shareholder meeting the other day.  Most of the cows wanted to move.  Move across the fence, to another pasture, to another day.  Most of the horses, well horses are horses and are not really investment minded, hell, if they don't have green growing grass they will rip up and eat the roots, and kill any chance of future grass.  Sort of like the people in California.  Sort of like PFOMITNCT (did you remember to spit).  But from our shareholder meeting did come one big plan for the future.  You may want to get your pen and paper ready.  We are going to create an entirely new market.  THE LOST MARKET (TLOMA). The cows are enthused over it and said "it will work", the horses said "sounds stupid and it will not work, and did you forget our treats?", the burros said "hell yes, this is do-able, we can sell it to the government, lets have lunch sometime".  Details are still classified (Obama has not put into effect the open government he promised), but the market will be entirely of worthless stock in bankrupted companies.  We will collect them, charge the poor stock holders to pick up the stuff, then we auction it off to the highest bidder.  The government will be the only bidder allowed in this market.  Sort of a reverse of the government saying only fanniefreddieginnymaywestbigmack or enruin can only do the dirty deeds.  As long as the FBI is not allowed to investigate us then we will do well.  Do not forget that this whole crisis was brought to us free of charge by the self regulation of investment banks, and by a multitude of government agencies rushing headlong to put poor people into better housing.  All in all, a decent endeavor.  But financially unsound.  Thanks to Frank and Pelosi and the rest of the elected herd, the thing thrived, grew, and festered.  The overseers saw.  Saw that the things bought some amount of votes.  They developed accounting procedures to account for the uncounted, the un-accountable, and to balance the unbalanced.  Moral hazard: each link in the mortgage chain made a profit while passing the credit risk to the next link in the chain. Structured investment vehicles:  deals with securitization of mortgage loans ....you can just make up about 30 words here, they will work to define it as about as well as any words the government or investment bankers will use.  End result is to take "bad stuff" off the balance sheet.  Replace it with, well nothing bad of course.  Only in America is this not called fraud.  Now Buck-Shot the pasture statistic-politician assures me that he can model the default risks amoung loans in a pool and that.......just make up about 50-80 words for this one and call it "Gaussian copula" this may be where you use your pen and paper.  This song and dance, done with strings and mirrors- sorry about that I got carried away, this technique was used by many who were able to close both eyes at the same time, but was filed in 13 by normal honest people.  It was exposed once everyone started losing money.  Amazing how that part works.  But listen, who was not happy ?  The poor people living well beyond their means were happy, the banks making bad loans but getting rid of the risk were happy, the politicians who were getting re-elected were happy, the CEOs of the banks and fanniefreddieginnymaywestbigmack and enruin that were making about $100,000 a year and getting bonuses of $ 3-700,000 a year they were and most still are happy.
I have some definitions to add but Iggie the cat says that a horse is eating the barn, the cows are planning on jumping over the moon, and the dog's brain melted in the sun.  Normal stuff here at the Ironhorse farm.  I think I better take another look at the balance sheet prior to the next shareholder meeting.

Lack of competing sticks makes the single stick more valuable

Here we are folks, Economics-101, yea, you should have paid attention in class and studied when you had the chance.  Kondratiew aka: Kondratieff and Schumpeter.  A couple of really heavy duty dudes that produced tremendous results in later years, and most people are unsure of who these two were.  Joseph Schumpeter gave us creative destruction and the beginning of capitalism.  Sort of like he defined America.  Kondratieff gave us cycles, big 50-60 year cycles, smaller cycles, business cycles versus economy cycles.  The Soviets did not like his words and locked him away.  And not many people know who they were.  Well no one knew who Genghis Khan was or what a Mongol was until .....

     Booms and Bursts:

Tulip mania about 1630.  Someone sold a tulip, that was sold again for a profit, and again and again.  Next thing you know the damn tulips are being planted and raised and sold by everyone.  A country ended up as the tulip country.  Had to grown them in green houses, they would not grow outside.  Then something hit the fan, someone said we don't need all these tulips, they are not worth what they are selling for and they sell for much more than their cost.  The bubble burst.

California Gold Rush of 1840s-1850s, town after town after town appeared in California and that part of the west.  Then someone said we don't need all these towns because the gold is running out.  The bubble burst.

Dot-com bubble, the crash of 1929, and then (you may want to put your reading glasses on now) the American sub prime mortgage boom of the 1990s, and then, and then, the early 2000s, and again about 2006, and just keep reading into the future.....and hearing pop, pop, pop....  There are a lot of others, different products, different times, same attitude and mentality.

A tulip, a house, a boom town, a housing development boom in Florida circa 1900, 1920, 1990, 2000++.  My theory is that people and companies learn nothing until after they lose money, before that they are reacting, following the herd.  Like a herd of Angus moving across the pasture thinking that the rest of the herd knows what is going on, and a lot of other follower types.  Look up the definition of "lemming".  Depending on the book, you will find words like "unthinkingly, headlong rush, flailing", and I'll be dammed, some books throw in "Wall Street.

This part of our current cycle is heading down.  Not much can be done about it (the direction) except - make it worse. Do more of what got us into this.  Spend, Spend, Spend.  The government is asking the citizens of America to stop saving and start spending, develop more credit.  Bad, Bad, Bad.

The view from the pasture is to live within our means, and that probably means reducing your spending, your cost, your consumption.  These are all good things, nothing bad about them.  Your elected government will spend your descent's money, and they will also spend and destroy your descent's credit.  Not "your children mind you, but your descents".  A long time to suffer, and for what ? ? ? ?

Pilot Training to BUFF

FLYING IS A DIFFERENT LIFE:

There I was, pointed at the ground and pulling hard, 20,000 feet from 1 g to 6 g and there goes Oklahoma being pulled to beneath my feet, there goes Texas, falling below my vision, now blue, blue sky, no horizon, blue sky, white blob of a cloud here and there, no navigational aid there, now all I have is 6 g and wings level on ADI, and that is hard to do looking out at the Sun, that damn sun moves, left-right-east-west, I have heard even north-south, lookie, lookie, from above my head, here comes the horizon, and that must be Kansas that appears from above my head, and I hope that is Dorothy and Toto out there somewhere, the horizon checks with the ADI as to wings level, hang on to that 6 g meter, pull, pull, pull, lord I hope that is Kansas and not Colorado or Arkansas, that I am pulling down into my view from over my head, and now Oklahoma, the pitot tube and my toes are pointed thru the air towards the ground and pulling down from over my head comes another verison of the sky above Oklahoma and Texas, I hope, I hope, I hope, and I hope to get back to Enid tonight. Sun so bright and sky so clear that I can see into the future. TACAN needle points left and I be headed south, God is good and it is nice when things check, roll left and call inbound, life was good there in the plains of the western part of the mid-west. A year in Oklahoma. a year not in Vietnam, life was good to me, Sandra was good to me, God was good to me, even the Air Force was good to me.

HISTORY TEACHES TRUTH. HISTORY TEACHES LIES.

History teaches us. It teaches us the truth and it teaches us the lies. We can not tell the difference.

About a long long time ago, in a college course, I learned that history could be used to support either or both sides of things. They gave an old statistical example, now modified by the pasture preacher(me):

Consider how many people die in America everyday. Death is evident, death is certain, death is a fact, and death is obvious even to our government regulators. Now consider a 93 year old man. He has never ever died, never before. When he does die, our government regulators (of the banks, of the stock exchange, of the fannies and freddies), and all our talking heads on the business channels, they all say "no one saw it coming, no one knew that he would die, he has never died before, no one could have predicted his death". The choir sings and the pasture preacher says "Bubble don't fail me now".

Now the pasture preacher contends, everybody knew that the markets (housing market, stock market, credit market) were over inflated, everybody knew that the markets were in a bubble state, everybody knew that the bubbles would burst. We did not know when, we did not know at what limit. No one wanted to sound the alarm. Not as long as the other guy appeared to be making money. No one wanted to be the one to sound the alarm, to make the cry "the king has no clothes on". They did not want to say it, but every one knew that the bubble would burst.

Now the government plan is to expand those bubbles again. Expand them more this time. Create more bad credit, create more bad debt, spend more money that we do not have. But this time we will let government regulators monitor these things. Yep, you guessed it, the same government regulators who could not have predicted the old mans death. The same regulators who never saw anything coming. The choir sings "gimme that old time religion" while the pasture preacher sings: "gimme that old time regulator, gimme that old time regulator..."

They gave the banks a lot of money and they do not know what the banks did with the money. They gave them no restrictions or requirements on the money. The banks took the money. The banks are not making loans. The banks are not stupid, it was bad loans that got them into this. The banks want more money.  They can sit on it until the economy turns around and then they will have a cow patty pot full to work with.

There is an overall common thread that runs through out this whole financial fiasco. It was all based upon dreams, it was all base upon hope and upon promises. Paper profits. Nothing was based upon value. No one bought real stuff, or real things. Futures, leverage, and other names that no one knew what they meant, names that were made up. Promises in the wind.  Frame work provided by the US government.

The choir sings and the pasture preacher says:
The preacher said he could make them whole again
The salesman said he could make them rich
Cohen said:
Everybody knew
Everybody knew the boat was leaking
Everybody knew the captain lied.

Politician's Entrance Test

WARNING

You will be tested prior to being allowed to run for a political office. Study the following very hard. The standard is 100 %.

The Seven Principles of Sleight of Hand are:
1. Palm - To hold an object in an apparently empty hand.
2. Ditch - To secretly dispose of an unneeded object.
3. Steal - To secretly obtain a needed object.
4. Load - To secretly move an object to where it is needed.
5. Simulation - To give the impression that something that has not happened, has.
6. Misdirection - To lead attention away from a secret move.
7. Switch - To secretly exchange one object for another.

Now on to matters in another pasture.  Our fearless leaders (I submit we call them our fearless spenders) are off to Italy at $10,000.00 per hour and at tax payers expense.  That is not appropriate for someone that feigned withholding money because they came to pickup their government welfare checks riding in their private jets.

Puzzle, Texas, Got Milk

There I was, trying to be invisible, not involved, not stressed out, having nothing to do.  That being the dream of an old man.  There he was, brownish red with white face, in a herd of black angus, sleeping, up against the barn.  Not normal, very unusual.  After a close look, my old dairy mentality told me that he had come up to report his pending death.  Starvation, related to the Mother not being able to provide the basics of life.  My bad side said, walk away, come back later with a shovel, and my good side said, we need to confront the problem.  Tell the wife, boss, farm manager, that we needed to go see the vet.  Pickup the brownish red baby with white face and slide him into the rear seat of the truck, and drive to the vet.  Vet said: do this, do that, and do other stuff.  Bottom line is/was, tube down the throat and into the stomach (keep fingers cross that you miss the lungs), pour the stuff of life.  It will work, or you go get the shovel.  There are good stuffs in this world folks.  He (the bull-now tagged with "puzzle, texas, got milk") was waddling around the pasture and quickly formed a very strong attachment to the wife, boss, farm manager (see above), and now "holder of the bottle with nipple and milk substitute", so strong that he would run across the pasture anytime that he had an indication that she was home (I belive that he could identify her car tag number).  He would come to me, only if "she" was not around.  So many hours of bottle feeding in the early, cold, damp and foggy mornings, and late dark nights after work.  He lived, he flourished, he became what he was, a very large bull, about the size of a Toyota truck, not those tiny things.  He turned into a "real man", he started to travel about.  Not only our pasture, fences being what they are, or rather what they are not, he visited our neighbor's pasture.  She, not wanting her herd bred, but puzzle felt that he knew better.  Today, puzzle has been sold, hopefully to someone with a big pasture and a tall fence.  Our neighbor has four new calves that bear the markings of puzzle.  We have 5 new calves that bear the markings of puzzle.  Life is good, life goes on, here in the pasture.

I feel this nation of ours is sick, ready to report its impending death.  Related to not being able to obtain the basics of life, but actually, strong and willing to recover.  We need to stop our elected offficials from using the shovel and covering us up with more debt.  Debt that they all say is what created this problem.  Debt that they say is what will get us out of this problem.  My old dairy mentality leads me to beleive that this problem was created by a market that was mauled into a position of "not normal, very unusual".  And I say the market can adjust itself.  We need to give it a chance to do that.  We need to resist the temptation to pile more debt upon debt.  Money wise, we are beyond bankrupt.  Legally our government can declare whatever they wish to declare.  As long as someone out there is willing to "not call in our loans", we can continue to operate, print money, pile up debt.  This places our future in someone elses hands.  Do not doubt that we are bankrupt.  Do not doubt that we can recover.  Do not doubt that we need to control the basic instinct of our elected officials to throw our money to the people that finances their election/relection.

Miracle on the Hudson, follow up

Miracle on the Hudson, follow up:  While standing in the pasture under a full moon, I see cows chew hay, calves rub heads, run, buck, and throw hooves into the air, and I imagine that Oprah will interview on her show, all the surviving birds of this highly publicized incident (Miracle on the Hudson).  This is a must for all bird lovers, all bird haters, all aircraft engine mechanics, and especially all birds.  General Electric, Boeing, and Rolls Royce are all making large investments to advertising on this show.   If we advertise, they will buy.  If we sell, they will buy.  If they do not buy, we will give them your money and make them buy.

Buy America:  no more plane flights and vacations to Europe, Asia, or any where else not in the Continental US, no more cruise ships.  Buy America. Be prepared to subsidize the airlines, and the cruise ship lines.

God Bless America and Capitalism, hello Socialism.

Any wonder we have problems dealing with the world and understanding how things work ?

There are only a few things in the world that affect absolutely everyone. Chemistry, Physics, Economics, and to a lot of people religion and faith. Our schools do not teach religion and that is understandable. We decided a long time ago that we did not want someone else's religion driven down our throats (freedom of religion is freedom from religion). Our high schools are set up to teach chemistry and physics only to college bound students. A lot of college degrees do not require the study of chemistry, physics or economics.

If we expect our population to understand the world they live in and to deal with life effectively, we should provide a foundation of knowledge that includes the chemistry, physics, and economics, from the early beginning and into college.

No wonder we have problems dealing with the world and understanding how things work ?

Why 32 F

The weather was cold this morning.  The cats wanted in last night, they wanted out this morning but right back in.  The dogs did not  show any indication of wanting to wander around the pasture.  They lay on the rugs and took very slow and loud breaths.  In my effort to delay going outside in the cold I decided to check the weather in places of interest to me.  Sembach Germany was 32 F, Chelsea, Alabama was 32 F, Bushnell, Florida was 32 F.    My cold brain said: whats going on here?  is the entire world 32 F, is this some form of global warming? (global cooling in Florida).  The neighbor says it colder than that.  It always is in his pasture.  Just an odd fact of life in  the pasture.

Medicine Man, Charlatan, Politician, Economic Advisor, Broadcaster (both news & seed)

The Aztec's have a god of renewal. Xipe Totec. aka's are: "Red Smoking Mirror" and "Night Drinker". This is all real folks, so pay attention. Wears the skins peeled from their sacrificial victims. Suggested reading if you can deal with seeds losing their outer layer as part of germination and snakes shedding their skin.

Had more to do with "life, death, and rebirth" in agriculture than in the finance field, but he may be more of what we need in Washington right now. Better qualified than the current charlatan's.

Pasture Paparazzi

"Hey, back off, I am trying to dig a hole here, if code enforcement or the EPA did not send you, then turn that camera off". (I hate those paparazzi types.) Life is no longer simple here in the pasture. The Federal Gov. does so much for those big hamburger chicken wing types, but nothing for us simple grass cutter, pasture hole diggers. Next thing u know, they will try to put a UPC on cows and expect us to register current addresses, carry that GPs stuff and try and track our movements, duh, track the hay bails and you might figure out my next movement. (hey-you check it out, no matter how you spell "bail", it deals with custody, release, court appearances, all bad stuff) I guess that I can not expect much from my government since I did not provide funds to any politician. Lessons learned. No moe moo here.

Here we have the pasture crew practicing for the upcoming super bowl. Mixed up the coin toss procedure. Toss the ball then play with the coin. Brown team is Max and the Black team is Buck-Shot. Halftime entertainment will be provided by the calves in the front pasture. Snacks provided by Rose (purveyor of fine pasture cuisine).

No animals were injured while filming this workout.

weekends in the pasture

Every burro needs a Red Rooster drink but he has to get to it prior to "the old man moving it". Red Rooster being a secret substance found in the freezer and poured into a glass and consumed by "the old man" and some neighbors.  See here for details(http://www.barnappetit.com/)

Ezekiel entertains the pasture

Ezekiel the burro does a great rendition of Caruso's opera "I LEVITATE". Sugar the pony (aka: Sweet & Low) tries a pasture version of allegro but is no match for Ezekiel's abilities in the vocal and in the dance.

Which brings us to the economy. The country is broke, our elected officials have made sure of that, and our new President's plan is to spend more of our money prior to the world saying "no more credit". Keep your fingers crossed.

Keep in mind that the people we are to rely on to fix this are the same ones who for 2 years or so said everything was great. Do not un-cross your fingers yet.

Our American leaders think that we are the ones who should decide how to "fix it" while we are the ones who put us into this mess. Yep, still keep those fingers crossed.

We are seeking to expand this country's credit and debt to aleviate a problem brought down upon us by a gross misuse of our credit and debt. Now cross those fingers really, really hard. If you do not believe in crossing your fingers, pray. If you do not believe in prayer, pray anyway, we will need it.

This has been the greatest country in the world. That has been proven time and time again. We need to live in the present and not in the past, we need to prepare to move into the future and not cling to our past.

Now I will go into the pasture and check on some of the important things in this world.

Look deeply into my eyes

If you are reading this please help. I am being held captive in a pasture with a group of cows. I was taken from my last pasture where I was very very happy and now I am somewhere else.

A new year and a new life start together.

A new year is born with shaky legs and in need of a cleanup. This year our economy will grow and improve over time with the effort and oversight provided by a concerned family.
